How can inclusive digital transformation help in creating sustainable and effective communities? Layertech’s Frei Sangil shares Layertech’s work on Public Data Analytics, and how the team and their partners are working with Local Government Units (LGUs) to advance transparency and data-driven governance through Information Communications Technology, Data Science, and Analytics.
Sangil specifically highlighted the importance of being inclusive in adopting GovTech and CivicTech at the local government level. She further notes that it is important to focus on systemic and locally-adaptive changes rather than ‘fancy’ digitalization programs and ‘tech fads’. And for these systemic changes to happen, investment in inclusion must be a priority. The local academe, civil society organizations, government employees, and the general public must all be on board the digitalization drive, starting from the planning of the digitalization roadmap, up to implementation and monitoring of its impact.
The Asian Forum on Enterprise and Society (AFES) is an annual conference hosted by the Asian Institute of Management’s Ramon V. Del Rosario’s Center for Corporate Responsibility and the Ramon Magsaysay Foundation.
