Data Analytics refers to the process of analyzing data to draw out useful insights relating to a certain topic or question. Data Analytics focuses more on how the insights generated from the data can answer questions or inform solutions to a certain problem. Public Data Analytics is the use of methods and processes of Data Analytics on Public Data to inform inclusive, relevant, participatory, and efficient public sector decision-making.
The OCDex Public Data Analytics (PDA) course is co-designed by multiple stakeholders from the academe, local governments, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), to equip subnational government offices and CSOs with the key competencies required to draft a data strategy and data implementation plan tailor-fit to their organization’s requirements and capacity.
This online self-paced version gives learners the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace (10 weeks).

Identify key organizational roles, skills, and resources required for harnessing public data and administrative data to inform decision-making;

Identify data tools to collect, process, analyze, and present data, and which of these best fit organizational capacity and priorities;

Identify key best practices to securely and ethically collect, process, and present data;

Visualize datasets into graphs that answer key organizational questions and requirements.

A data strategy document for the learner’s organization, fit to their requirements, capacity, and priorities.

A roadmap and corresponding implementation plan to complement the data strategy.

This module covers topics on cybersecurity, data privacy, and incident response. This module walks you through creating your organizational incident response and cybersecurity plan.

This module is created under a grant, specifically for the Philippine LGUs. This module covers use cases, policies, and programs relevant to local government units in the Philippines.

Special Module for CSOs. This module focuses on use cases, supporting policies, and instruments for Civil Society Organizations.

As a final requirement before generating your certificate, you need to pass this 10-item certification quiz. You need to score 70% or above to pass. You only have 10 tries to pass the quiz.
