Layertech CEO and data scientist Frei Sangil was granted an award from the House of Representatives of the Philippines for her impactful, creative, and innovative use of digital technologies to promote citizen participation and open governance.
The inaugural CREATE (Celebrating Rising Excellence in Artistic Talent and Expression) Awards 2024 is hosted by the Arts, Culture, and Creative Industries Bloc of the 19th Congress in collaboration with the Special Committee on Creative Industries chaired by Rep. Christopher “Toff” De Venecia and the Committee on Accounts, chaired by Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez. With the assistance of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) partner civil society and reputable names in the industry, nine (9) distinguished awardees were selected, one for each creative domain under the Philippine Creative Industries Act.
The distinguished awards celebrate the intricate relationship between arts and society, community development, advocacy, and cultural identity.
In a public Facebook post, Frei shares the credit to her Layertech team, their local and international partners, the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Department of Trade and Industry Albay and Region 5, for tirelessly promoting the Creative Industry at the grassroots level.
