Cagayan de Oro, “City of Golden Opportunity”, a tourism city of Mindanao well-known for kayaking adventures, business, and information communications technology, partners with Layertech Labs in deploying the Business Suite: Software solutions and support for women-led Micro, Medium, and Small Enterprises that are just starting to transition into the digital economy. The partnership was facilitated by USAID Strengthening Urban Resilience for Growth and Equity (USAID-SURGE) Women and Gender Development Programme (WGDP).
Layertech developed the business suite in 2017, to help address an important gap in the digitalization of micro and small entrepreneurs that prevents them from fully benefitting from the opportunities of the digital and online space. The software is designed to run even without internet connections and outputs datasets that can be easily migrated to other business software and platforms.
On July 7, 2021, Mayor Oscar Moreno and Layertech President Frei Sangil signed a partnership Memorandum of Understanding via Zoom call and streamed live on Cagayan de Oro’s official Facebook page.
The partnership will give FREE BMC software and business learning materials (premium e-learning access) to selected 50 women-led enterprises in Cagayan de Oro City. The activation code is one-time, and will not require further costs on the part of the entrepreneur.
