Launch of Learn2Code Artificial Intelligence Exploration Course and Chirstmas STEM Toys Gift Giving Program

In partnership with the Center for Women in Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Layertech Labs launched the newest Learn2Code Artificial Intelligence Exploration Course and conducted an inaugural Artificial Intelligence Quiz Bee for Elementary School and High School student attendees.

The course is designed to provide a comprehensive and practical introduction to Artificial Intelligence, its tools, dangers, and best practices. The course was co-created with partner civil society organizations and universities. Learn more about the course HERE.

The final part of the program is a Christmas gift-giving activity, wherein robotics kits, free 1-year access to Learn2Code courses, and spaghetti packs (care of Center for Women in STEM) were given to elementary school girls from Daraga, Albay. The gift-giving activity is a yearly project by Layertech Labs to help close the #DreamGap and break preconceived notions against girls in STEM.

The program’s morning highlight is the coding recital and presentation of the course capstone project by the CodeHers, high school students from Oro Site High School, Dinapa National High School, and Perpetual Help National High School. The following teams presented the games, software, and smart technologies they developed, mostly using Python and Arduino, within the past five months:
