Layertech President and Data Scientist Frei Sangil discussed the importance of leveraging public data for inclusive and sustainable development at the 2025 Mindanao ICT Conference #Mindacon: Innovating Mindanao’s Workforce for a Sustainable Industry 5.0 held in Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines. Also joining the panel are: Mr. Jose Mari Mercado, Consultant for Countryside Development (Moderator); Mr. Junem Albert Repollo, Vice President for Technology of Eulap Digital Corporation (Panelist); Mr. Carljoe Javier, Executive Director & Chief AI Ethicist of Data and AI Ethics PH (Panelist), and Dr. Noel Gunay, Project Lead of the MSU Icebox-TBI.
The panel discussed the role of ICT in ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth for the region, answered questions from the audience, and shared resources and points for collaboration. Frei Sangil particularly highlighted Layertech’s projects and partners, such as the Project OCDex, Public Data Analytics Network, CloudCT Project, and its partnership with the Makati Business Club’s Digital Democracy Project. After the panel, Frei Sangil distributed copies of the Public Data Analytics handbook to key stakeholders at the event, such as the Mindanao Development Authority, Provincial Government of South Cotabato and its ICT Council Partner, and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, among others.
