DICT DIWA Advocates in Bacolod, Negros Occidental<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>

The Department of Communications and Information Technology (DICT) launched the Digital Innovation for Women Advancement (DIWA) on December 12, 2022, to increase the participation and number of women professionals, workers, and experts in all fields of information and communications technology (ICTs) and to leverage on ICTs to promote gender inclusion. Layertech’s President Frei Sangil joined the national launch in December 2022 and shared learnings from her experience in the “Hidden No More: Empowering Women Leaders in STEM” Program of the U.S. State Department.<\/p>

On March 3, 2022, Sangil joined DICT Undersecretary Atty. Jocelle Batapa-Sigue, DICT IIDB Director Emmy Lou Delfin, and DICT Division head Frances Loraine Valdez in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, where Sangil shared her journey, insights, and lessons learned on being a woman in ICT. Sangil also shared Layertech’s programs to help advance inclusion in STEM. <\/p>
